Bio
Kat French (and no, she doesn’t speak French) is an alternative singer-songwriter turning growing pains into guitar hooks. Known for her autobiographical lyrics and infectious melodies, fans have compared her style to Paramore, boygenius, and The 1975.
Mentored by Stargate
A graduate of the Los Angeles Academy for Artists & Music Production (LAAMP), a program founded by Stargate, Kat has been mentored by some of the industry’s top artists, songwriters, and producers. Through LAAMP, she worked with Katy Perry’s Firework Foundation, earning a “melody monster” co-sign from Katy Perry herself. She’s since been featured on platforms like Brandy Melville and We Found New Music (WFNM), steadily building a fanbase drawn to her vulnerability, edge, and unfiltered sound.
Social Justice
Beyond music, Kat is part of The Slants Foundation’s Asian PACIVICS program, where she expands her artistry through advocacy-driven songwriting. Her release “They Don’t Own You” was inspired by Viva Rescue, an LGBTQ-run animal sanctuary, which she is spotlighting in an upcoming television appearance on Crossings TV.
